A New Year is Around the Corner

Very soon we’ll be starting a new calendar year, with 365 new days to grow as individuals, as well as grow our businesses. While we’re making our own personal resolutions for 2018, we should also take the opportunity to consider what changes or improvements we want to see in our business.

One of the many (and I believe the most important) consulting services we offer is business planning –- sometimes called strategic planning or annual goal setting. Over the years, I’ve found that only about 10-15 percent of businesses have an effective planning process. It’s important to have a path in place to take ideas from paper and put them into practice. Perhaps more personal New Year’s resolutions would last past the first week of January if strategic planning were part of the equation!

What many executives and/or business owners miss is that good planning equals good management. Planning is about managing resources and priorities in an organized way, as well as setting clear expectations for your team as they look to the year ahead. I’ve identified four steps you can use to plan better and in turn improve overall management, which will lead to the results you are striving for – check out the article in the newsletter below. I encourage you to take time in January to develop a plan that puts you and your team on the same path to success.
